The Titan’s Swim & Dive Team made it a 3Peat! With the return of the Alexandria Tri-City Championship Meet bringing together cross-town rivals Alexandria City, Bishop Ireton and Saint Stephens and Saint Agnes the Mayor’s Trophy Cup was up for grabs at the St. James Sports Complex.

By the numbers the Titans brought in 31 medals: 12 Gold, 8 Silver and 11 Bronze. It’s worth noting that out of the 6 Relay Races contested in Medley and Freestyle, the Titans captured 5 First Places alone with a 2nd place among the possible. This would indicate the strong waves needed to retain the Cup and Title. Stand out performances include individual Champions Rachel Cotton (100Y Free), Jonathan Ramsdell (100 BK) and Captain Jolan Foronda who set a new meet record in the 100Y Breaststroke. Double Gold Winning performances were achieved by Captains Anna St. Jean (200IM, 100 FL) and Bodie Lauinger (50 FR, 100 FR) who not only won doubles in their individual events but also lifted their respective relays (200 Medley and 400 Free) to the Gold Medal Standard as well going an impressive 4 for 4.

Cheers and leadership were on full display rallying their squads in fellow Captains Owen Henderson Anna Huber-Wilker, Lauren Sutherland. One incredible feat to put in perspective is that this Senior Class was a part of the historic 2018 Team (then 8th graders) who have remained unbeaten at the City Champs Meet.  Results include Rankings: Men’s Team 1st and Women 1st and over undisputed Alexandria City Champions. Scores include: SSSA 89, BISD 240, ACHS 287.

This Championship team and growing tradition of excellence will be remembered for its Titan pride and strength coming together to keep the Mayor’s Trophy Cup home on King Street.
